In the 80s, I remember Reagan supporters saying that if people didn’t like Republican policies, those policies reflected America’s democratic choice, and detractors could “love it or leave it.”
I left America before Trump began winning primaries, so I can’t say I moved in response to his success. However, in the conversation about where my wife and I are going to settle and raise our kids, America has been taken off the table – at least for the next four to eight years.
I suppose that, on the plus side, Ted Cruz et al will be kept out of the White House for at least another cycle.
And also on the plus side, here in England, we’re much closer to Paris.
